The Sort of Good. The Bad. And the Funny. April Fools’ Day 2017 Roundup
Ahh, who could forget Open Table’s Taste App or Uncle Bob’s Selfie Storage last year? April 1 2017 had a lot to live up to with regards to the pranks businesses pulled last year annnd it didn’t.
We are sad to say that we were rather disappointed by this year’s haul of April Fools’ pranks.
That being said, we’ve managed to find a few favourites and we’ve ranked each prank using our smileys again this year.
Google – April Fools Advice 🙂 🙂
Google programmed its assistant to give smartphone users some valuable advice if they asked her about April Fools Day. They also brought back their popular Pac-Maps game for the day allowing internet users to play this antiquated but popular game.
T-Mobile – ONEsie 🙂 🙂 🙂
T-Mobile claimed to have invented the first ever, well, smart onesie packed with a variety of technology such as thermal charging, nanofibers, fitness tracking and other mumbo-jumbo. Would have been awesome had Microsoft not beat them to the idea a few months back.
Master & Dynamic – MH40 Wireless On-Ear Concrete Headphones 🙂 🙂 🙂
Just imagine listing to your metal through concrete headphones. Master & Dynamic, producer of metal and leather headphones, decided to release the first ever wireless earphones made completely out of concrete weighing at 10.6 pounds.
Netflix – Netflix Live 🙂 🙂 🙂
From the site that brings you boundless entertainment, comes – something big – something SO EXTRAORDINARY… Will Arnett – LIVE! Netflix fooled its fans by releasing a video of Will Arnett discussing everything from office supplies to parallel parking in excruciating detail. We both laughed and cried at the same time.
Duolingo – Learn the art of speaking emoji 🙂 🙂 🙂
Duolingo, a popular language learning site has released a special course on speaking Emoji as their April Fools’ prank. The only thing that worries us is that a course like this is actually a cool idea.
Amazon – Petlexa 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Amazon released a new integration named “Petlexa” which enabled Amazon Echo owners with pets to understand their pets’ enquiries. All pets had to do was bark, tweep, squeak or meaow their requests at Petlexa and this integration would understand the question and respond accordingly.
Burger King – Whopper Toothpaste 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
This might just be the most contradictory “invention” ever. Just think about it; you’re cleaning your teeth with the taste of onions, lettuce, grilled meat and buns?! Burger King released their revolutionary, tasty toothpaste called “Whopper Toothpaste” on April 1 enable people to brush their teeth with the taste of their specialty burger. Not sure whether to rejoice or throw up at the idea.
